The Internet Time (or .beat) is a time concept introduced in 1998 by the Swatch company. It consists of a number between 000-999, which defines the time of the day globaly, each beat is 86,4 seconds making it intuitive enough to think that every tick is a little more than 1 minute, so its easy to mentally divide a day in like ~ 1000 minutes. This much simpler system has many benefits, especially because is always the same number all over the world, so no timezones nightmare, it's a very useful way to schedule meetings between different places worldwide.
